There are not many records of Korean furniture left, and only a few artisans continue making authentic Korean-style crafts. Master Yang is one of the few such artisans in Korea. With his advice, I got an opportunity to modernize the Korean style without hurting its root philosophy.

Learning and understanding traditional craftsmanship, which includes communication with the tools and material, the usability, aesthetics, and the culture around the object, was key to the project.
